About Katie Davis and Spontaneous Awakening
Formerly from Seattle, Washington, Katie Davis offers non-dual events and Advaita satsang wherever invited. In 1986, Katie had a profound, radical and spontaneous awakening, without teachers or spiritual practices. In fact, she had no intellectual reference whatsoever for what had occurred. She spent many years integrating that spiritual realization and began teaching in 2000, when someone asked for help.
She is author of Awake Joy: The Essence of Enlightenment and her husband is Sundance Burke, author of Free Spirit: A Guide to Enlightened Being, who awakened in 1982 before their meeting with his first teachers, Satoshi (Osho) and Sunyata, named the Rare Born Mystic by his friend, Ramana Maharshi. Sundance and Katie travel worldwide offering their message of conscious freedom and causeless joy.
In 2004, they moved to the beautiful island of Maui to write. The books were intimately written with their desks side by side and the expanse of the Pacific Ocean and the many natural wonders of island before them. Over each Maui sunset, they would share with one another the passages that had been created by the flow of consciousness. Their books, Awake Joy by Katie and Free Spirit by Sundance published in February 2008.
